Technology making life easier, again
Heya Folks,
Fast Company has released an amazing app for smart phone users. Once you’ve downloaded the app, you simply snap a photo of any book’s bar code and the app emails you the citation in whatever format you need (MLA, APA, etc). More details and the way to download the app can be found here
My question for you: Do you turn your students on to stuff like this? Or do you let them sort out their own technological short cuts? At this point, I’ve got my students using google chat/apps and dropbox, but I normally don’t clue them in to new technologies such as citation tools. But maybe I should? What are your thoughts?

Sadly, this app is only for iPhone/Android users. I love my BlackBerry, but fewer apps are made for BB phones. And, for what it’s worth, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with sharing technology like this with students. Once they understand the principles, that is. It’s like basic math. You learn how to do it, but after that, you never do math without a calculator again.
